Here are some pics from my buddy's shop, they are doing a SAS to a Tacoma. Just thought I would share as they build up this taco that will be locked fr/rr, and on 37's.

Sas
Hey. I am the guy in the picture doing the plasma cutting. Yes, I can't agree more... the worst part of a SAS is grinding down the remaining IFS crap and the welds. At least I have two 7" angle grinders, so that speeds it up a bit... but they get really heavy after only a few minutes. All of the SAS brackets (sans the shackle hangers in the front) will be fabricated by myself. I will be making all of the stuff today, so hopefully Mike or I will have those up tonight or tomorrow. The best aspect of this SAS is the d44 came from North Carolina, so it was so easy to get the inner knuckles off... mine came from northern Indiana, and they were so seized. We ended up having to use the hydraulic press to get them off. Anyway, take care.
ah, we're using the standard rancho 44044s in the front and chevy 63"s in the rear. In a few months I will be doing a 3 link coiled setup in the front, and 4 link triangulated setup in the rear... leaf springs are simple but suck, plus the ride really sucks.

Hey all! Yeah, i love my truck, though that pic makes it look weird. It's like a fish eye lens or something. It makes it look like the rear is squatting low. Notice the HEep in the background?!?!? The customer wants a leaf sprung rig because it's easier to maintain. I have been wanting to do a coil over setup before I even did my SAS. I was planning on doing a 3 link in front (i've seen guys do a triangulated 4 link in the front but it's just too messy, there's no room up front for all that!) and a 4 link the rear... though with this crappy indiana weather, i'd be going through heims once a month! Once this truck is done, we'll be back to making bumpers... I hope to have a rear 4runner bumper ready for production in the next few weeks. Anyway, take care!

OK got to the shop today and here are the resulting pics.
Those 37's are HUGE.
You shoulda seen that axle before it got cleaned up!
The axle isn't ready yet, as there is still some welding to do on it. This was just a test fitting.

Why not try a 4/5 link? I just did one on my Tundra. From the looks of the two factory suspensions, the Taco setup is nearly identical. Just curious why more folks don't go for the link type suspension.
