The 1st gen pickups had somewhat flimsy front spring hangers, not that the 2nd gen pickups were a whole lot better but the 1st gens were weaker there for sure, had to weld up one on the Rubicon about 12 yrs. ago when his front hanger tore off on one side. Either can be fined with a decent replacement spring hanger.
