Roll Bar/Tire Rack in my 2nd gen.

So i got an exhaust done recently and my tip dumps off right where my spare tire used to be. Ive been wanting to either add on to my rear bumper or some how put my spare tire inside. Adding on to my bumper would be a lot of work and money and i probably wouldnt be happy with it. So i saw a thread for a roll bar a while ago and decided to fab one up to fit and mount my tire to it.

Cut 2 1/4 off all legs. Tire mounts made from 1/2 in. steel plate and 3 inch tube. All in all im really happy with it. Looks factory and cost me a whole $40. Had to massage the fender with a nice big hammer to get my subs to fit. Still needs a little bit more to fit them better. Soon to have a Hi lift mounted on the other side.

Legs cut off.

tac'd up in the runna.

Finishing welding. Ground down the thread holes at the top of the bar and plugged them.

Finished with tire mounted.

Painted and mounted. Tires a 31x10.5

Pic of the tire mount.

No need to blatantly be dogging other people's mods camo...especially in their thread.

If the logoff problem is that bad, make a thread about it in the Site Feedback section.

no i meant since obeYrunner put a 1st gen roll bar in his 2nd gen....and BBP has a 1st gen..he should therefore have a roll bar in there already...he can't put another one in there?? lol

i wasn't saying that this is a bad idea or anything, the more i look at it the more i want to do it myself

I like it. You might even be able to fit a hi lift between the tire and the bar.

And Logan, your spare "puppy foot" won't fit in your cargo area standing on end, or are you still in denial about the size of your rig?

Welcome to the 2nd gen/roll bar club... Nice addition for the tire... That's what I would have done if not for finding a parts truck with a factory tire carrier and a mint tailgate! Good on ya!

the biggest im going to go is 33's so a 31 spare will do just fine. I may be able to put one of my 265/75r16 in there but it would be tight for sure.
