Rewire Doors
This Summer I removed the doors from my 95 4runner. It has power everything. The good news is that all the leads were color coated. I now have put the doors back on and need to hook the leads back together. I cut, stripped the leads and planned to use butt conectors to get the wires together. When I took the doors off the sunroof, rear window, radio, and interior lights no longer work. Is there a way to get back to just having the windows work and my radio? I dont care about the locks and power mirrors working, but would like to remove the doors again next summer. Is there a easy wiring kit for the doors or has anyone ran into this before? what can I do to get the windows up and the radio working again?

hook all the wiring back up?
Next time, just unplug the connector from under the dash instead of cutting your wiring harness. You should probably just replace the harness now at this point. If it shorts, and catches fire, its bye bye 4Runner.

Between the door and the jam is a black rubber tube... where you cut the wires...
If you disconnect the tube from the jam and wiggle the wires, there are connectors whichwill easily come apart.
Its all part of manufacturers assembling vehicles faster. Modular parts..

The connectors are underneath the dash, behind the kick panels.
Why would you have cut your wires in the first place? What a nightmare piecing it back together!

Yeah, all cars have a little connector that goes from the main harness to the door harness so they're easy to install/replace. Disconnect door harness, unbolt door, the end.
Don't be so hasty next time you're working on your truck.
