Yes Holy Shiet! is the correct term a lot of people have used so far when they seen it in person lol. Actually you are very close. Mark will tell you that those 8" Dick Cepek hologen lights i bought off him can get very hot when standing in front of them. you just feel the heat lol

Nice job on the license plate holder, and the anti-theft for your winch, that was a really good idea!
Ed thanks man, means a lot from a welder/fabricator like your self. Actually in the end i didnt care a whole lot for the CBI bumper anymore. i did still incorporate ideas from theirs but i made my bumper look more like the Relentless Offroad fab Tacoma bumpers. (check out the pix from Page 1 on this thread) Those had a very different look/style to them that i couldnt overlook. So i guess you can say i kinda copied more of their style vs the CBI and 4xinnovations plate bumpers.

thanks Lee. Thanks for pushing me man lol but i'm actually just waiting on the date to come. January 27th my trade tech classes will begin.(which is why i was so eager to get all these major modifications that i wanted installed and over with because i wont have any time at all to work on my truck once my school begins. I cant think of anything else i would like to have. What... Just a stereo system, on board air compressor, and possibly dual transfercases? i dunno. but i honestly think that stuff can wait till my school is done and i am really making some real cash. ya know. Thanks motivation though. You and a few others have showed their approval on my build thread and i do really appreciate it.

Hahaa Nick i know you have been following me on Instagram, build thread and my bumper thread lol. Well should you decide to build your own feel free to copy mine. After all i have all the measurements graph paper sketch sized down from the truck to the paper. and im pretty sure ive shown enough pix to follow step by step instructions(kind of) as best as i could. So yea I'd like to see somebody else make one haha!

BTW just to let you know; kind of funny actually. I was actually disappointed when i got the Trailgear winch plate instead of the Addicted off road one. But now that i think about it and have seen what i could do with that hitch receiver i absolutely love it. Because it is removeable there is so many things i can build to fit in there and i will use that for sure! i want to make or buy one of these D-ring hitch's for the front of the truck.
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Winches-W...FaY1QgoddgoA7w

I'm sure i can make it ad just buy the Dring i know i have seen some oversized ones at the bolt store. Another thing i would like to make to add into that hitch is a tow bar. it will slide in like the hitch does, have a bar accross from the left to right side in the front of the truck where i will then weld on one of these:
http://www.pepboys.com/product/detai...03/?quantity=1

And that tow bar will be a huge advantage to have handy. One never knows when the truck will break down on or off the trail. And why not save yourself an $80-120 uhual tow cart rental or even worse an expensive tow truck. This is much cheaper to have and there will always be somebody available to tow. So I am extreamely happy i got the trailgear winch plate in the end. It will definitely prove to be the best choice for any home made bumper fabricator. I definitely recommend it.

http://www.harborfreight.com/d-ring-...tch-66212.html

Harbor fright has a d ring kind of receiver for like $8, the quality seems fine. In store it was 7.99 when I got mine

thanks for the comments guys.
A51young - I dropped by the Harbor Freight store today and took some pix of the tow d-ring piece youre talking about.
Seems decent. For $10 at my store

Inside seems to be welded as well

Not bad. It has a 10k pound limit. I think it should be good.

I didnt buy it yet. I wanted to take a look at the spare d-rings i have in my truck. their harbor freight design looks extremely easy to make. I might even be able to make this with the spare metal that i have. Then again maybe i shouldn't chance something like this.
If i dont make it in time for next weeks offroad trip i will definitely buy it. Not like it cost alot anyway.

That's what I got it for, just a simple little thing that fits into the receiver on my trail gear bumper. Even getting a better d ring will still be cheaper than getting the trail gear or smittybilt one. Plus I see a bit of reviews of those other ones not fitting for some reason, issues with tolerances or something.

Thank you Tyler. She does look good. And I finally had a chance to test out all my lights on last weeks offroad trip. They came in handy. I didn't get a chance to use the winch though. Lol didn't need it with both lockers haha.

How much did you bumper weigh?

Hey quick question, besides for the 4 bolts in the front frame do you have any other mounting areas on yours? I'm in the process of building a beefy bumper and am not sure if the 4 17mm and 2 14mm bolts are gonna be enough

No that's all there is. I recommend you either make a 1/4" plate or buy a Trail Gear reinforcement plate to reinforce front crossmember(where the 4 bolts go). What you can do as well is weld a bar on each end of the bumper closest to the wheel wells and mount them to the frame as well. That would give you more reinforcement as well. I didn't do that but that was my original choice. Also we welded my bumper to the 1/4" reinforcement plate aside from those 4 bolts you're talking about.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I'd be glad to answer.

Old thread, but I had to comment. Nice job. I am doing some research on a possible bumper project for my '89 4runner. The builder's attention to detail in the way he built the prototype/model out of hardboard is impressive. I also like the fact that he went to the dentist in Mexico. There is a town in Mexico, right on the border by Yuma Arizona, called Los Algodones, that has to be the dental capital of North America. You can get your dental needs taken care of for about 1/5 (one-fifth) of the cost in the USA. And I hear their work is very good. I'm going to try them as soon as I can to get an implant and a crown. Heck, I'd go there for the fun of it even if the money wasn't an issue.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the praise! And like 'dropzone' said i am mostly active on Instagram now. But i do however keep my trailer build up to date here on yotatech. (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...-build-291091/)
The Masonite board prototype was my dads idea and it has worked out great for both my bumper builds.
