Started building a bumper at bentup with AJ. swing out tire carrier and eventually will hold a gas can. We finished it tonight and i painted it. I'm going back tomorrow to do the final mounting and then it will officially be done. some pics of the build(i'll post more when it's done):

Nice build.
What bumper brackets did you use/ mod? The stock ones or other?
Interesting to see your design for working around the rear leaf spring hangers on the 2nd Gen. I have a similiar setup and am trying to figure out the best way to support the "wings" along the side.
Are you planning to tie in the leading edge of the wing at all, or do you feel the additional gusset and rock ring above will help with deflection?

The sides are pretty solid....the gusset really helps with forces from the side and I can put my weight (about 290lbs.) on the wings with minimal flex....they pass my test.

Very nice work on the bumper and swingout. Great looking design.
Personally I wouldn't be comfortable leaving the "wings" unsupported near the front. Also after seeing some plate-style bumpers bend in choice places, I would consider boxing in some parts of the backside.

Very nice set up, I really like the look of it and how snug it fits the body. Looking to do something like that but will need to install the 2" body lift first so I can follow the body.
Can't wait to see it when it is done.
