Putting a 3rd Gen front bumper on a Gen 2 PU

I am just curious if anyone has tried fabbing a gen 3 bumper to fit on a gen 2 PU. I like the looks and stability of the gen 3 bumper better. I understand that brackets can be made easily. I'm just wondering if it fits side to side and under the fenders.

I kept the tube bumper I built for my 89 pickup to install on my 85 4runner. When I went to test fit it, the bumper was to tall and would require quite a bit of work in order to make it fit. In my opinion it was not worth the trouble of reworking the bumper.
