No manual opening of sunroof!
While at the dealer the other day, I asked them how you manually open the sunroof on a 3rd gen 4Runner. On the 2nd gens you can crank it open. But on 3rd gens there is no way. You have to cut the wires, arg! They jokingly said don't open it. Yeah, thanks. I havent' had a problem, but want to know in case. Has anyone heard of anything different?
Thanks
Pete

Actually, I believe, the allen wrench "crank" on the 2nd generation's was to be able to crank it closed if the electric's failed? The absence of that ability bothers me a little on the 3rd.

I thought you could do the same on the 3rd gens? I've never tried, but if you flip open the cardholder lookin thing on the overhead console where the sunroof controls are, there's a nut inside that supposedly closes the sunroof incase the electrics fail.

I just looked at my 2K Ltd. Between the controls and the winshield is a sunglass/garage door opener holder. In front of that is pop-out cover that covers mounting holes for some other option, but nothing that resembles anything to close the SR.
