The official tube notching thread

Ive got the jd2 notched sitting on my work bench. I'd chuck it in the garbage if it were mine lol. Better off with a grinder and a bad attitude. The the chuck is stripped and bent, but more frustrating than that the clamp that holds your tube to bit angle wont stay tight. The cheap plastic tightner strips out.
My advice... you get what you pay for. A nice notcher is worth every penny. The jd2 knotcher will get a few projects done and work fine albeit some cuss words.... but long term.... waste of $$$

I HAVE used a tp tube for templating, works very well. I have an "Ole Joint Jigger" but hole saws don't last long enough even with plenty of cutting oil. Most of the time, I chuck it up in the Rigid tripod and have at with a bandsaw and grinder. Nice set up, Baileigh, wish I could afford it and a tube shark bender. Life would be good!
