Muffler swap

Ok, I bought a Dynomax Super turbo muffler from a buddy for $20.00. It looks like he had it sitting in his garage -practically brand new- (a few scratches but nothing serious) I dont really know if it is worth the trouble hacking and welding away at my exhaust system, or if I should just sell it off to someone interested or on ebay. My plan was to take the original muffler off, get a reducer and bolt that on, then get new 2.5" pipes to run to the back of the truck from the new muffler so it will be a direct fit. The only problem is that I think I would have to fab up new mounting points for the new pipes. I can email pics if needed.

Probably not, but it may sound decent. Dont forget its a 4 banger so its gonna sound like a rice rocket.

ya I kinda figured, but how much of a ricer will it sound like? Is it like a deeper blop blop ricer sound or like a wing-ging-ging kind of ricer sound. (Sorry for the sound effects)

No telling really, it all depends on the back pressure, engine size, exhaust system and the muffler.

Honestly I dont think it will sound good, but if you wanna see do it.

Really? that's cool, Still though, if it's either a hit-or-miss kind of thing, im not sure that I want to do it or not. I don't know though, if I get enough money this X-mas I might very well do it. Also a project (I'm doing it in the summer) I have a sun roof that I will probably be dropping in the roof of my pickup out of an old van. It will look awkward but It's gonna be pretty cool.

So long as you get a new cat and do an intake it should sound good..

Good luckonthe sunroof project..hope it doesnt leak when you get done. I had one in my camry and every other car and never even really used it so I figured why bother lol.

I have the v6 with a highflow 2.5 " system guy did it for me for like 200. It was from the cat back. He replaced the caty, muffler, and welded the pipe. I have a pic but its quite blury my camera batteries were dead. As far as difference I do notice I go up hills alot better and I hit 80-90 alot easier on the HWY. I haven't had a chance to notice gas mileage yet as I broke it about 3 weeks after having it done. That is mud on it btw. Oh the sound its nice and deep. I can't wait to get it back I got a date set for Dec 20th.
