I noticed after my trip this weekend, I bent my lower control arm on the driver's side in addition to breaking the top urethane bushing on my OMEN86 firm shock, so now it makes all kinds of racket back there.

I've heard about the spidertrax arms, but I don't know where to get them, what the benefits are, what length, etc. Can someone help me out?

Jeff the Marmot runs the rear lower control arms from Spidertrax. His post on this ODW thread talks about them a little bit. I seem to remember a lot of discussion about them at ODW late last year, early this year. Hope this helps.

 

Awesome man! I'll read them tomorrow when I get some more time. I'm wondering about when I relocate my tank if I could cut off the locations on the frame to provide more clearance, make the control arms longer, and mount them to the frame either on the outside or inside of the frame rail??

I've decided that temporarily I'm going to bend it back to normal, so hopefully this will buy me enough time to design my rear 4-link.

my control arm mount is bent, slammed it pretty hard, it squeaks when i flex that side, but nothing major.

if youre gonna change your setup (ie 4-link) dont put the money into the spidertrax arms.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I've going to bend it back to as close to stock as possible, and then save money for a 4-link rear setup in future. The next big mod, though, is probably going to the ARB RD90.

Here after a while I'll have a car from work, which will be helpful, but it will be a while before that happens.

if your control arm is bent, you will get uneven tire wear in addition to other problems in the rear.

if i were you, i would find another stock control arm, and have both lower arms half sleeved with some .250" wall DOM tubing by a fab shop

 

I'm actually thinking along those same lines, and if everything goes as planned, I'm going to try to bend it back to normal tomorrow, then I'm planning on using angle iron along the bottom side of each lower control arm not only for strength but for sliding the the right or left rather than hitting it bluntly on the bar. Does that make any sense?

Well today I got my angle iron I'm going to use to reinforce the lower control arms. I'll have pictures soon. I'm using 1"x1"x3/16" angle iron, which fits nicely around the control arm leaving a nice area for a solid bead of weld. It should reall beef things up down there temporarily until I go with a 4 link rear down the road.
