Update, 27MAR12
Found a rubber Air Brake Chamber Pancake diaphragm at Napa that works perfect to close off the intake tube to prevent water from coming in while I'm just street driving. I leave the diaphragm in the filter box so it's an easy conversion. Just unscrew the deckplate and install the diaphragm.

I also added a small aluminum fairing to the front of the prefilter to divert rain away from the bottom of the inlet.

Indeed I do
Right now the box is out until I can figure out what to do with it. I'll have to enlarge the hole in the fender due to the 3.4 filter box input not lining up. Then I can attach the snorkel.

Well the 3.4 has been transplanted and the snorkel has been adapted to the OEM filter housing. I have no need for the filter box that started this whole thread.
