Cracked Frame is it worth it?

Hi, New here and looking for an answer. I'm looking into purchasing an older(pre-95) Toyota Pickup. I do have a couple of vehicles I'm looking at, One is a '94 here- http://potsdam.craigslist.org/cto/3987085646.html
Owner says it is cracked on both frame rails there are pictures in the CL post of the cracks, I do have a buddy that could weld them. Owner also says it has around 160K on it, If I bought this it would be something I would fix up. So is this even worth purchasing or am I better looking at something else?

If you have a means to fix it, then it could be worth it. Also depends on your plans for use. Hard to say though depending on what the rest of the frame looks like - just from the pics I'm guessing it's pretty bad based on what little is shown. Other items that follow shortly behind are fuel rails and brake lines.

I would say that for what the owner is asking for it, go for it if you think you can fix it. But like highonpottery said it really depends what you plan on using it for. I would just reinforce the hell out of the surrounding areas. For $1000 you could most likely make your money back just parting it also ha

Thanks for the replys. I have not personally taken a look at it yet, and planned on using it as a daily driver/light off roader. I know I know there is probably something better out there and there is but this is most reasonably priced truck I have found and isn't already modded out.

For the money he is asking i would drive from here and get it just for parts.

Those pictures are really poor I can`t tell just where this crack is at.

3.0 or 22REC would be good to know.

Upper State Ny I would also figure on needing to replace fuel and brake lines.
