Chopped 4runner??

Has anybody choped the top on a 4runner?? I want to sell my truck and get a 4runner to do this, but I'd like to know how hard and how much work it takes, I dont want to get over my head LOL.

Also any pics.
Thanx, Matt.

If you have to ask that question, you are already over your head.... lol
Depends on what you want for a result. Any bozo can take a sawzall and cut off the top. Takes about an hour.... Now, if you want it to look good, comes the hard work. Lotsa sharp edges to fix. Lotsa wobbly body panels that need some reinforcing. Probably not a learn-as-you-go proposition. Then what about the doors? Cut the tops off the window frames and the windows fall over. Remove the windows too? Then, what are the plans for rain protection?

Do a bit of Googling for street rod top chopping and the like. Get acquainted with the methods. Then chop away if you are so inclined...

Yeah I chopped mine. Its ALLOT OF Work. Not easy to do,

She only leaks a little during a HARD rain storm..

My server blew up in a lightening storm, so I cant show you any pictures right now. (Can you belive that it Fried my UPS, Blew one of the two power supplies in the server and cooked the Raid Controller memory stick)

Give me a week to get the server fixed and than check out www.mudrunner.ca I have pic's and write ups and stuff.

Gotta go with these guys Blaster...I still vote NO.

Under the right circumstances with a really good designer/body man it MIGHT look ok I guess. But I still say get a 1st gen if you want removable.

Yeah...I'd just find you a nice 1st gen, and maybe a 4x4 post you can hack on to take out your need to cut something.

SO what are you all saying ? My 4RUnner looks like ass ?

Do It man. It looks awesome (IMHO), You'll have a one of a kind Runner, Every where you go, people will stop and talk to you about your truck, You have the best of both worlds... a 4Door COnvertable,

The Checker plating isn't EASY, figure about a month to finish it.
Heres a pic I found for you. My server should be back up end of the week. (if the parts come in on time)

I think 4Hummer's truck is very cool. I can sure appreciate the eight zillion hours of work that probably went into design and building. For me personally, I'd prefer to have a totally enclosed cab. But that's just my style.
