built a battery tray today....

well, the stock plastic battery tray leaves a lot to be desired. it broke, so my optima slid sideways shorting out the postive battery clamp onto the battery retainer so, after replacing the melted battery post clamp, i decided something needed to be done.

i basically replicated the plastic one, but with 1" angle iron and some tube i had lying around.

fits in the stock location and fits like a charm

Dude, I don't even have a tray like that.....mine is just that thing underneath it.

My runner has been airborne and the battery has never moved....how did yours move?

my battery moves with jsut everyday driving.....

the stock tray isnt like that.. its a flat piece of sheet plastic with like a 1/4" tall rail.... mine was all bent and folded over when i got my truck, i just removed it.....

ok, so the stock tray isnt as good as teh one i made, but, i did replicate its size and shape and the fact that it had two round pegs going into the two holes below to secure it.
