And it Begins...
After a lot of thought and watching a lot of SAS'd Toyotas on exteme trails I have decided that it is going to happen sometime so why not now. I bought a Waggy axle from a pick and pull for $75. I have bought hubs, shocks, perches, and a locker so far. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can start the chopping.

holy cow $75 for the axle?? if you decide not to go through with it, let me know I will buy the axle off you! if that isn't your dd, my buddy has a shop, and is doing a sas this week, and would probably hook you up with a sas for cheap.

Here we go again, the 3rd gen SAS is starting it's climb to becoming a normal thing. Way to go Steve, despite your best efforts to instill reality people are still willing to put trucks less than 10yrs old under the tourch.
Good luck, nice start with a cheep axel purchase, keep us posted.

I have another huge project in the works right now and won't have anything ready for another month or so.....
After I get done with the rear suspension on my 4Runner, I'll use the frame for my new buggy project. got a chain drive T-case comming, a 3.4L V-6 sitting in the backyard already and a shed full of misc car parts that I'll be able to use for the steering etc.....
This will be a total ghetto fabbed rockcrawler, going as CHEAP as I can, since I do plan on rolling this thing. Gonna take the seats and 5 point harnesses out of my Datsun 510.
