Ok... maybe a little...

But seriously... I broke the front wheeling, with the steering slightly turned, going up a rock water fall... Did I mention the 4.7-1 t-case gears?

Even though your weight and HP were a factor, properly set-up 5.29's are just as strong as 4.88's. I think most R&P failures are due to improper set-up.

I dunno about that... Christo Slee @ Slee Offroad setup the gears. I think he knows what he's doing... I broke the pinion... this seems fairly common among the 5.29 crowd. Lots of pro's are breaking those.

I have a set of Profields, All-Pro's cro-mo axles and an ARB RD-02 in the front of the FJ-62. The entire axle was gutted and rebuilt, all new everything.

how about a resounding...

NO

get the real deal- Long's Super Axles

The Profields have proven themselves to be very prone to breaking. I regret spending the money on the set I now carry as spares...

Lots of Profield failure stories - http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/searc...earchid=645132

Im glad i sold the ones i had before everybody started breaking them. When i get anther toy, there will be longfeilds in it. Hell, ill be running his 760x u-joints shortly.

BTW, i got to see his BRAND NEW uber-longfeilds. The set my freind has is only the 3rd set made, he just got them last week for some testing. These things are sweet, i cant wait to see him try and break these. All i can say is WOW, if they are as strong as they look like they should be, it may keep people from swaping 60's in

If it were me, I would go with a set of longs. Not sure if I would get the 30 spline or 27 but he has been doing it a long time and might know a few things that we don’t.

Any of you guys tried the Newfields from CV Unlimited. Just curious. I know several people who have wheeled them for a few years. One is in a cruiser with 38.5's,a 4speed w/ granny gear and a 305. So far so good
