Anyone have pics of partial exos?

Thinking of making one for my 93 ex cab.... I know I want the tubes on the a-pillar similar to this orange/yellow toy on the Crawl mag...
Lets see some pics...

I have collected pics from all over... but have no idea where or who owns them. Just liked the cages for various reasons:

A very nicely integrated one:

Really clean:

Just hiding the fender bars looks lame.

I guess if you can hide all the bars other than the a-pillar and roof line structure then great, but all the ones Ive seen either looks stupid or looks like an exo....since im assuming this is all about looks and no function involved in this "twist" on an exo.

I think you are missing the point of the partial exo. I dont really care for full exos and I dont want an interior cage. Why would you say that a partial cage is just for looks and no function? My main interest is protecting my front end, engine, windshield, cab and a-pillar. I could care less about the fenders and I am building a tube bed for the back. I just want a bar underneath the front fenders to keep from pushing them in. No point in having extra tube that reduces clearance on the trail and adds weight..... I think you have just never seen a partial exo that is done right. The rigs I posted here are just examples. I really dont care for any of their designs....

I get it. Some people dont like the look of an exo, I get that too. I have an exo and if there was some other way of protecting all the metal and glass Id be doing it.

The pics you have posted are mostly the ones I have seen and I also dont care for them. I think they are an example of alot of work just to "avoid a look". As far as clearence on the trails, a fender bar wont jam you up in fact I find that it keeps me on track and on all 4s. The exo you posted above is an example of a "tree grabber" I use my exo on EVERY trail I go on so I designed it to be able to slide through the trees.

A partial is not just for looks....but the idea behind doing a partial over an interior/exo is mainly looks. Sure sure In theory you may be smaller (where it doesnt really count) but smaller none the less. I just question the massive amount of extra work it requires vs its reward.
just my 2 cents

But by all means give it a shot! From what I have seen from your build and tube work ability, Im sure you could make one that looks right.

Its not a terrible exo by any means when looking at all the exos out there. But his fender protection is wrong, his cowl bar is clumbsy, and It looks exsesive to some people because it looks like he used 1.75 tube rather than 1.5 and painted it in flat black (which makes it look dull, clumbsy, and busy)

But mainly its the exsesive tree grabbing fender protection.

Plus flat spray paint will not last long at all.

I really like this one......See the mess of tube coming out of the cutout in the front fender? That is the "look" i want. Simple, functional and it doesnt look like some random pile of DOM

^ that is the same truck as you referenced in your first post, just pre paint. He is a member here, goes by ORS, and his name is Mike. Great company to work with, I'm sure they can help you out.

Well its been a month, any more updates on your exo cage build? Im very interested in how you will go about with it. I too would like some sort of an exo cage set up down the road.

Yes, we are trying to get this heap finished up so there is garage space....

Should be starting this summer sometime...I usually spend about 6 months or so thinking about anything before I actually do it

Looking into building one myself with a catch. I want to be able to remove it. Most of the ones I have seen would require the cage to be cut off in order to remove the cab etc.
