its all 3/16" plate, then I welded an extra plate on the back side, then there are 1/2" plate brackets welded to it that go directly to the frame

Dont have one, yet... I dont think I have enough room behind the bumper to put a winch back there. What I think im going to do once I get a winch, is do a reciever style mount, right in the middle just cut out a 2x2" square, weld tube to the back side, then I have to figure out a locking pin solution. I need to put my front plate on yet, but I want to find a hinging plate mount from an old buick (gas cap behind plate style) so the hole can be hidden when not in use.

but I have other projects I want to get started on, aka solid axle swap. so im gonna wait to do the rest until I can actually afford a winch

I think it looks too bulky and I think its too close to the body. The body flexes separately from the frame. This means the bumper and fenders will come into contact when a bumper is too close to the body. Like yours.

Props to fabbing your own stuff though.

thats a good thought, I didnt actually think about difference in body flex/frame flex... if its an issue I can add 1/8" spacers on the bottom brackets, and make the side brackets a little bigger and drop it down a bit.

Cool looking bumper. The way your shackle mounts stick out makes me think of something from Gladiator and their chariots. Do you know about how much it weighs?
