Aluminum number?

I'm thinking of starting a front bumber and I have yet to see anyone make one out of aluminum.
I know it's not as strong and it's more expensive and harder to weld. Is there any other reason why?

I know it's ugly just a quick sketch.

Too damn expensive and not worth it in the thicknesses of steel you are using.

TJM makes an aluminum version of their front bumper:

And yes, more expensive material (especially if you go with any sort of high strength alloy) and more expensive fabrication typically with TIG welding. Plus you can't grind it very well (clogs up the abrasive wheels).
