Holy Aloha, Batman! That Taco actually looks pretty cool... A little too much chrome for my taste, but what do I know, I'm just a River Rat... Cool trucks, brah. I would actually like to see some Island wheelin'. Post up!

 

I was on Kauai in May (my parents live there part-time) and I saw a whole crew of these trucks driving down the street. There must have been 15 of them, some w/exo-cages, and all were COVERED in the red Kauai mud. While it may be a little extreme, at least they do get used...

...while here in so. cal. not a day goes by that I see some ridiculously lifted full-sized pickup and giant tires that's obviously never been off-road, and most of them are 2wd.

 

I'm not a big fan of that much lift, but I can appreciate how clean all of the swaps are.

and to answer the question about why we lift our trucks so high, part of the reason is for looks and the other part is for wheeling. like i said, we dont have much places to go rock climbing, mostly mudding, mountain trails, and sand. i know its pretty much the same reason why people in california and elsewhere have very nice high trucks, either wheeling or show purposes. all in all, we are just truck and custom lift fanatics i guess. theres a group of us in every state. thats why we have these forums!!! for the enthusiast and extreme enthusiasts!! and to answer the travel question, ive seen guys with 10" springs before wheeling in rutts, and mountain trails with a pretty good length of travel. im sure its a whole different story if they used 10" springs for rock crawling.

those were backyard swaps. the colorado was 2wd and dropped before he lifted and SAS'd it.
