Moab 2008

As you know it is May 28 to June 1. I have talked to Jim Hughes, Jim Deer, Lance and Brian K, we came up with the following trails.

1: Moab Rim
2: Posion Spider/Gold Bar Rim/Golden Spike (You know the long one.)
3: Behind the Rocks

This will give something for everyone. One easy, one in the middle and one hard. Hit the highlights and skip Hells Revenge this year.

I guess really everyone is on deck already, but I thought I would start this to see when everyone from Phoenix wants to drive up?

I say we leave about the same time as last year. I think we met at the gas station off the CF highway about 8:30am. I'm gonna be a little slower this year, so a somewhat early start will be good.

Looking forward to the trip. Are we going to have about the same size group we had last year? Are you guys bringing the full-figured rigs or buggies?

As far as I know, it will be all "bodied" trucks. Still not sure who all is going from down here. Myself and Schaefer for sure and several others that are currently undecided. Yourself, Jim, Jim, throw in a few more Jim's and I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anyone else.

Hey Ray, I'll keep that idea in mind. It will depend on whether or not I can get a different shift by then. Same reason I can't make the "Toyota" run coming up. Working through the weekends is really cramping my style.

Maybe I'll bring the '89...

J/K The 4Runner should be wheelable. The F-Toy will be no where near ready

So the Moab trip is fast approaching. Anyone else gonna make it? Mike or Jon? I know you guys were contemplating it.

You can jump in with me when we roll through Tuba City if you want. Schaefer already has a full bus and I don't think anyone else from Phoenix is going. I should have enough room. The ride will be loud, rough and no A/C. Hardcore baby.

Steve and others,
We were down there a couple weeks ago and I thought I could give you a quick update. Golden Spike is still the same, not much to change on that trail. Moab Rim is a bit tougher than usual, the big ledge before you start heading away from the cliff looks like it got torn up and folks were doing a lot of rock stacking. Not a big issue but harder than it was. We didn't do BTR so I don't know about that, but Cliffhanger is back to it's crappy condition and might be a fun one if you need to add one more trail.
I was going to try to sneak down and meet you guys but work is crazy and when you run a seasonal business you can't just walk away for a vacation when you have work. Maybe next time.
Have fun and take pictures.

Sorry for not posting. I'm out. Too many other activities in too short a timeframe right now for me. Sorry I'll miss it. Just got back from a GC backpack so I've been Waaay out the loop.
