Four Peaks
Wanting to take girlfriend for a romantic view and was thinking the top of four peaks would work. So my question is does anyone know how to Drive to the top. I know I take 143 past bathrooms but there are a ton of roads that turn off. Any advice please?

I just took the 4 peaks trail that leads all the way to the Roosevelt. i don't remember seeing any turns to get to the actual peak. at least i don't think haha. i would just do a Butcher Jones run to cove 2 that way there aren't as many people there. My dates seemed to like it at night and when i bring firewood

Four Peaks does have some random turn off trails, but they are much smaller than the main trial. Just stay on the main trail you'll be all set. Right past the rest rooms there is a turn off to the right but keep going and you'll make it.
Check out a book called "Backcountry Adventures Arizona" its full of trails with detailed directions, pics, history, maps and GPS points for hundreds of trails in AZ. I use mine all the time to get out to some amazing places. Its written for anyone who has a stock 4wd so even a jeep could make it to most places. I've been on the trails it calls Most Difficult and they arn't all that bad. I wouldn't heasitate to do any of them again and my truck was completely stock when I did them.
Butcher Jones is a great place to go too. I used to take my gf out to the 3rd or 4th cove all the time, watch the sunset, have a small fire on the beach, roast some marshmellows - its very secluded - works everytime! But if you don't know your way around out there you could easily get lost and thats not very romantic.

4 peaks
It's actually pretty easy to get to the top of 4 peaks from the 87. It's not a difficult ride. My wife and I took quads early this year. Just stick to the main trail right out of the staging area.
