I was just quoted $2800 from Nutek at Central and Hatcher for a new motor installed. I Thought that was way high. I need to ask him how that breaks down, but what should I expect for a motor and install? At that price I figure I could buy a motor from Performance 22re and it couldn't be more than a few hundred for install.

I figured I would post my experience up for posterity. I got a new long block from Engine House (I-17 and Indian School). They has by far the best warranty of any place I found in Phoenix. They charged me around $3000 for the engine, install, and incidentals (inc. new radiator, hoses). Had a bit of a problem with the front seal leaking. Just had them replace it when I went in for my 500 mile service. I've got about 600 miles on it (100 after the 500 mile service) and it's running great.

My first Engine House 3.0 blew up with 32,000 on it, threw 3 rods through the block, they inspected the engine and could not find a reason that it grenaded so they replaced it under warranty and I have about 10,000 miles on the second one and it's running like a top!

Got just under 20,000 miles out of my rebuild on my 95 3.0 before head gasket blew again. See my post above. Autospec would not honor warranty on their work as they claim. Go anywhere but there and good luck

Bringing back an old thread. My Autospec engine just blew another HG and maybe ring failure after 65k miles. Looking for someone reputable in the valley and experienced with 22re, it's so damn scary to have an engine rebuilt! Sometimes i wish it was a Chevy so i could just go buy a crate motor!
