I think there are, at least a few. Plus it is a little cooler than in town and even a few pine trees up close to the top. But the area around there, down to butcher jones and along the apache trail a few places. I enjoy finding connecting trails around there

I was wondering if anyone had any axles with birfields for a mini truck? I got myself into a bind and need a short side one. I would be interested in chromoly ones if anyone has any. Thank you.

 

Just spotted a lifted and (what sounded like) supercharged white 4r with a safari snorkel on union hills. Talked to the girl driving for a sec... Great looking rig, hope you can make it out to a Friday Night table mesa meet sometime soon. At airdown around 6:30, in the dirt at 7.

 

just got a call from my girl..."some guy in an FJ was asking me about TMR"....lol. Despite all the lights on that rig, we rarely do night runs....it's more of an overlander for our Sunday Fundays....good lookin out though! you never know.....

 

Blah! Get out for a Friday night run. My lady needs company! Besides, we only do runs that EVERYONE is comfortable with.

 

Hey that was my FJ. Not sure if it's your 4runner or your gf's but one of you did a damn good job building a rig. That thing is awesome. We normally just go on azfj.org. Feel free to join us on a night run. Get on table mesa road for about a quarter mile and you'll see us on Friday night's around 6:30. It's not bad. I made it fine when I was stock. It's impossible to miss us in the air down area on the left. We also have a 4runner guy (names glider) that goes out with us too.

Everyone else: Meet at the trail head of Broken Arrow at 10:00am ish for airdown (last time we went, we got there right at 10am).

 

Thanks, it's hers...she kind-of decided that for me once she stuck her foot in the SC! We actually bought it pretty much as it sits. Someone put tons of work and $ into it then pitched it on CL for cheap! She bought me a 97 that we've been building up... we'll see about getting out there one evening for sure! I think we've done one or two runs with Glider, good stuff!

Working two jobs to help the family and every Saturday at the fun one so time is the issue and this crazy sickness I've developed recently...an affinity to spend money on things that go BANG! The wife hates me for it as well as scolds me like a little kid. I've found it's easier to ask forgiveness than to convince her why "we" need another...oh well.

Back in a 4runner again, after selling my 92 for a Scion, my Scion for an FJC, and totaling my wifes lancer led to a 1995 v6.
Build is slow and frugally headed toward a camping, shooting, haul the dogs rig.
Really excited to tear into the engine and replace the water pump here in the next couple weeks.

Friday nights at Table Mesa are well worth the fun! I met up with the crew a couple times when I had the fjc and everyone there is awesome.

So, does anyone on here go wheelin anymore besides a51young (Tony) and I?? Its supposed to be an awesome weather weekend and I'm ready to get out on the trails. I don't have anything planned just yet, but I'm working on it. I'd like to try out some of those new trials in the 2nd edition Wells AZ backroads book - Black Canyon City outlook, Mt. Ord, Tip-Top mine.... there is always the good old stand bys of Butcher Jones, 4 Peaks and Sycamore.

Let me know if any of you are interested and we'll plan something!
