highlux thx for posting ..... i looked at your trekker thread this morning while i was sipping my coffee ... and maybe saw it sold in the forsale section..

in regards to the truck he is firm at 6000...

i even offered him Dom Perignon for his wedding on sat to see if he would budge.... he must really love it or have around that much in it...

i am backing down it feels like the 22r is under powered for my purpose (i drove my friends slightly haggard 22r a few hours ago ........ only .......in and out out of my 1/2 mile driveway that is gravel/ large rock / creek bed ...i need more reflection on the experience because the aspect of the drive that in my newer tacoma is questionable..... seemed effortless where as the straights ....or the mile of paved before i turned around seemed like a struggle and loud and obtrusive the motor was over working to keep the truck traveling with the right momentum..

i think it made me realize that this particular truck i am looking at is severely overpriced ...

however simply judging from the images the body is one of the cleanest on the web right now .... based on results from searchtempest for a 86...

where are all the yota techs at.. ??

honestly thx's to yota tech for having their stuff together ... today i was reeding about weber carbs... looking at 1980 tuck bodies with 400hp chevy motors in them... and getting a comprehensive scoop of whats up in toyota trucks.... yota suvs.. and all kooky things in between.... side note i drive a 2003 toyota tacoma everyday... in the 40 thousand miles i have been with it i have never heard the motor change its pitch at all except for the occasional cold weather sightly asthmatic symptom that settles after the truck reaches operational temp... i have no idea what i am talking about...
thats post 3 of 15.. sorry if you had to read this i owe you a cold beer ....

I think you made a wise decision. The 22R in my experience is somewhat rare in an 86. The body looks good, but for the money it should have alot more goodies.
I got my 86 4runner for 2500. I suggest looking around and finding something that is a little better deal.

Good luck in the hunt!

yeah, I saw that one too on CL. price is higher than others you find, yes, but it was also MUCH nicer and cleaner than others I've seen lately. i mean if you look at what you get for $2-3K in this area, $6K isn't bad for a really nice one. I guess it depends on what you want it for. I am looking for a cherry pickup and a cherry 4runner for daily drivers, so I would be willing to pay that price for a clean vehicle with low miles, no rust, excellent body/paint/interior that hasn't been offroad. I might have purchased that one if it had been an automatic. yes, i am one of the few guys on hear that doesn't want a manual. i guess that is because i don't really do any wheeling. if i start getting into that i just might learn how to drive a manual!
