MY ass sagging SAS pictures

not broken in leaf springs + body lift that needs to come out + short rear coils = "holy ass sag batman" anyway, its not completely done yet. The shock mounts are getting welded on today. Ohh yea. . . and the guy i bought the axle from assembled the knuckles upside-down so i have to tear it apart and put it back together correctly. When you put the knuckles on wrong it points the top of your tires away from the truck instead of towards the middle like its supposed to be. Hard to tell from the picture but when i had the truck up in the air it was real obvious. And the calipers end up in the front of the axle when you do that, so yet another reason i have to flip them back to right-side-up

Ill post more pics tonight

which springs did you end up using??

post pic of the knuckles it seems to me they are correct....... are the calibers on the back side

here is a pic of mine.......it would suck to take them apart and then reinstall backwards then have to teardown and fix again

there is no diff in it, trying to keep pollen/dust etc out. so i guess you could sorta call it a diaper I have a high-pinion 3rd im waiting on to get geared and locked

the knuckles are definetly upside down, the caliper mounts are on the front of the axle which is WRONG, they are supposed to be on the back. its not a terribly hard fix but annoying still

Jermey showed me that last night, that is jsut crazy, he and Matt both are ass drag'n now, He has some lifted FZJ80 coils coming to level out the rear hopefully, and I think he said he was going with 35" Dunlop MTs. Hopefully after I get a 2" RB BL under the 85' I can do the same.

Jermey your rig is gona be so huge, and so bad ass after it's all said and done, just keep pluging away at it.

3in leaf springs, body lift is coming out cause i hate the sky'd look. If i coulda kept the same size and had solid axle travel i woulda left it. i have the downey coils and spacers, for a 3in total rear. I just brought the truck back to my place tonight, ill go measure it later

34 in tires right? if so that means you've settled about 4in at the spring hanger, assuming your springs really are 1in taller and everything else being equal. do you remember your numbers right after install ? could you take a side shot? id like to see the spring arch and shackle angle. my shackle angle is pretty crappy, i hope it improves when the spring flattens. they have a ton of arch right now

You have a monster. I think you realy need some 35's now. I wonder how much the arb's weight is going to level it out. Any plans on a winch. I think it will look better without the body lift plus your arb will fit right.

Looks great condgrad's

more weight in the front, new springs in the rear, cut down the body lift, it will be fine im sure. It just looks really odd right now

47.5" mine has settled about 2" with the added weight of the arb. i didnt do a hanger measurement and i do have 34's

i figured i was around 11-12" above stock before i added the arb now it looks like your in the same boat needing about 8" for the rear

i also get about 8 mpg on the interstate

ouch on the gas mileage, probably cause you've doubled your front profile that the wind resistance hits, that thing drives like an airplane wing at that steep an angle

check out this guy's site

Allen Dickenson's Homepage

he lives in durham, i went and saw his truck about 2 weeks ago, with the landcruiser rear coils and 3in front alcan springs his truck sat about perfect. It has settled in alot, ill try to call him tommorow and get a current hanger to ground height to see how low it will eventually get. The pictures on there are semi-old, when i went and saw it the leaf springs had 0 arch in them. He also runs 33s with a 1in body and they dont look small at all
