Hey Chris,

What time do you want to meet at the Cracker Barrel if Dan wants to meet at the drive in at 8:00 pm? If we meet at 7 pm, an hour so be enough to get out there, in think.

Sean, are you and the Mrs going to be able to join us?

Being a Friday, let's meet earlier. Traffic from Manassas down I66 can be bad from Manassas to Marshall. How's 6:30pm at the Cracker Barrel? Should we eat there or grab something later?

Lets just me there and eat at the drive in. We'll have some stuff in a cooler and also check out the concession stand. We can always hit up some place on the way too.

Send me your cellphone number either here or private mail. I'll do the same. Do you have a CB? If not, we'll use the cellphones should we get seperated or find a food stop along the way.

Just so you know, the DI has typical movie theater food, if you can make the time it would be better to grab a bite elsewhere, though we do try to support the place by patronizing the concession stand. If you don't need restaurant quality, and can handle a multi-hotdog dinner, then don't worry about it. (Am kinda talking myself into that one, mmmmm :pig: )
It appears we may not be camping after all, I have a bachelor party the next night, and my mom is in town visiting, so need some room to juggle the situation. We will be all set to catch Fast and Furious/ Italian job, unanimous winner of the poll. If we can't join up before, head to whatever screen is showing those movies and we'll eventually see the trucks.

See you there... and BYOB!

Chris,

We'll meet you at the Cracker Barrel parking lot at 6:30 pm tonight. Monitor channel 4 on your CB, I'll see if I can reach you on the way to the parking lot.

Will do. I'll probably leave the house around 6:10 or so.

For what it's worth, we're bringing a small cooler with some food/snacks and chairs. Dunno about my wife, but I've never been to a DI theatre before. This will be a new experience for me.

Hi guys,

Dan, just got your voice mail.

Yes, (thanks to Chris' declaration that his wife will be coming) Sue is up for the event!

A couple of logistical items for me come to mind:

1) I have the top off the '88, yet i'm hearing about severe thunderstorms/hail in the Fairfax/west area tonight?!? ugh...if that goes down, yikes. How's a drive-in look through wipers? We do have the '90 V6, but the front stereo speakers in it are shot and i haven't received my replacement 4" Infinity spkrs yet...bummer.

Solution.....put (gulp) top back on '88.

2) If I take the '88, I do have a CB, but as I chatted with Ian about...I think it's out of calibration (antenna). Ian, can you bring your SWF meter to the CrackerBarrel meeting point? If time allows it, maybe we could do a quick tune. Else that....Dan has my cell #.

3) Not sure exactly where the Cracker Barrel is in Manassas. Details anyone?

4) Sue's OBGyn appt. got rescheduled for today @ 3:30pm in NW DC (near A.U.), so timing is tight to come out of there and get out 66W on a Friday to Manassas. Ideas?

Oh, and did I mention that 2 days ago, while removing the O2 sensor on the 88's downpipe, both welded-on bolts that secure it SNAPPED-OFF! I got new bolts rewelded on by a local machine shop in Falls Church, Allied Machining (score!!). So...factor that in...

Needless to say....we're in....Giddyup!!!

Cracker Barrel:

Traveling southbound on I66, take the first Rt234 exit. CB is on the right hand side right after you exit onto 234.

I don't have any suggestions on getting to Manassas other than to hit the road as early as possible. Coming from DC on a Friday afternoon is rough. I'd plan for a two hour drive (it's at least one hour from the beltway to manassas).

Sean,

Maybe still bring the 90 v6 and park next to Dan with his big speakers. If it does rain, you'll be covered.

Had a great time guys!

Just wanted to drop you fellas a quick note before I hit the sack....2:45am.

Sue and I had a great time out at the Drive-In tonight! Chris, it was nice to finally meet you, as well as all our significant 'others' getting to meet each other.

We need to do this again, soon.

BTW, just before we left to meet you guys at the Cracker Barrel (which Sue is dying to go back to, to check out all it's goodies and grab a bite to eat [ hint next gathering location] )....my YJ Bikini Top arrived! Great timing....would've been nice to have that tonight. Hopefully I'll get to put that up this weekend!!

Nite, nite all!

Sean

We had a great time too. We should do it again before it gets too cold.

How did i miss this? Man I've been trying to go to a drive in for a while now. My girl's been harassing me about going to the one near Blacksburg for a while now. I didn't even know there was one that was like an hour away from north va. Maybe I'll check it out this weekend.

Wow the one around here is only like 15 minutes away. Thanks for the info. Too bad I'll have to wait a few months for my return
