Going topless

Just gotta say it. Bought my bikini top and am heading out for the long weekend into the VA country, where I will be bolting on the new bestop for the FJ-40 with the kit I got from 4xJedi on 4x4wire. Might have to write a review on it, was immediately impressed with the workmanship. Pics to come I'm sure...

I don't know Dan, seeing you prancing around in a bikini top.

It is accomplished.

It rained the first time but the topless truck awaits departure for beach this weekend. Going to add the bikini at noon. Praying the weather forecasts from here to NJ are accurate through the weekend. Sweet. SWEEEEET.

So had a great trip to the beach, got some pics of the top on. On the way home I drove through the rain that flooded some parts of MD, had to stop several times when I couldn't keep up a speed to keep the rain flying over. Got totally hosed in the way back but was continually surprised with how much rain the top kept out of the cab. Will be doing a write up soon at VA4ROC...

Overall, the top ROCKS!!

OOh, nice!
Don't get too much rain here, that mod would definitely be a good one! Is this something that would require significant work to get the hard top back on?

As far as the ease of removal, it can be done by one person who doesn't mind beating up the top, but with two plus people it can be more safely removed this way...

A removable top for the 90 plus runners would be pretty cool, but for the money you might as well get a great 1st gen, and soup it up with the money saved. I've seen custom jobs for some old dodge trucks but just the pickups, a full length top would be a lot to handle if it were metal and not fiberglass.
