I went for a test run at little Naches last weekend my wheel spacers keep coming loose so I ordered some replacements yesterday. I also destroyed my motor mounts (way too much torque). Next project: narrowed FJ-80 full float e-locker rear axle / front e-locker FJ-62 axle.

Sorry to hear about your continuous wheel spacer issues. Glad to hear you found some time to wheel though. Who made the wheel spacers you are having so much trouble with? That way I know who not to go with when I order mine. Is it the spacers that are the issue or the nuts?

It is the nuts that keep coming loose. I can't blame Marlin for that. He doesn't make them anymore anyways. I think my problem was not using locktite.

Yeah I think that happens to anyone that doesn't use locktite. So did they get damaged when they came loose? Is that the reason for ordering new ones?

Yikes. How did it make it all the way home in that condition? Or did you not find the damage until you were back?

I just pulled over and cranked em down as tight as I could. I actually broke two of the wheel studs off. It ovaled out the holes in it, so it definately needs to be replaced. I went with the synergy 1-1/2" wheel spacers that Low Range Off-Road sells.

That would be a good idea if they had a tapered leading edge. It would work great to back up the regular lug nuts with these tightened behind them, if there were enough threads...but there isn't. I'll just use locktite.

I think I can make this walker run. I'll see If I can get some buddies too. My front axle has been making a noise so I'll see if I can find what it is.
Looking forward to going wheeling with you guys!

I don't believe we have anyone that far north. Can you make a video of it? Or at the very least describe the noise and the conditions in which it is occuring? Usually noise out of the axle is a differential problem.

There has been no shavings out of the dif. Birfields looked perfect. It sounds like it grinding only when I'm climbing over something which is making me think it is just a tire rubbing. Because I can be in 4wd getting on it on flat ground and nothing...

Probably just your tire rubbing somewhere in your wheel well. Same thing happened to mine, sounded just like a CV joint about ready to blow up.
