easy wheeling spots

Just got a new truck and want to go wheeling. I dont have anyone to go with at the moment. I am not very experienced and since ill probably be alone i dont want to get myself in too deep. Does anyone have any recommendations for some easy fun spots to play around a little bit around seattle?

I agree with sleepy but if your looking for a spot around seattle and dont mind going across the sound Tahuya National Forrest is not too shabby with alot of beginer trails.

Never. EVER EVER EVER. Wheel alone. NOT EVER. Not even FS roads. You are just asking to end up as a statistic.

There are several good wheeling spots locally, some closed during the winter.

Walker is up North, Reiter is closed, Evans is mount rainier area but Closed for the winter, then you have Tahuya, Elbe, and Browns camp in Northern Oregon.

During the winter there are many FS roads to hit up if you are looking for snow.

But again, DO NOT WHEEL ALONE. Ever. I cannot emphasize this enough.

Also depending on where you live, the Greenwater area past Enumclaw on the way to Crystal Mountain and Mt. Rainier offers hundreds of miles of old growth forest service roads to explore and camp at.

Right now all of them have snow, and many are not clear of snow until June/July.

The story about the father an son that sux, I hate it for em. I am new to the Western Wa. area my self I have learned the hard way as well , only on a much better note. I was driving to Browns Creek this past sat. was run off the road while I was in my lane by a Subaru wagon the road was snow coverd just a path to follow. While I was rounding to turn at the brigde the wagon was coming at me no where to go but in to the ditch. I couldnt 4x4 out of it. waited almost 3 hours for passer by 4x4 2500 chevy to offer to pull me out (damn grateful). My point is I had every thing with me to fit my needs chain ,strap, shovel ,blanket the works . EXCEPT HELP. NO MORE ALONE.

If you don't have a winch a come along is a hand tool to have with you. BUT never wheel alone. If you have to find a jeeper to go with. last resort of course.
