Doesn't change the fact that its still Illegal to wheel any portion of Reiter. If the DNR did not issue a pass, then its Illegal. We do not allow posting any sort of Illegal activity on YT, nor do we advocate or condone such irresponsible practices.

People have been working for years to get Reiter reopened, and people going up there wheeling illegally at night is a big step backwards. If you want to risk breaking the law, its your choice. But do not post it on this forum.

Thanks

That is true! Reiter is a beautiful area. I also heard a rumor they opened up a single track bike trail up there. If that is indeed true, that would be a great step in the right direction. People say the trails are going to be cut way short, but 6 miles of trails is better than zero. I don't agree with shutting the area down, but then again most people who wheel/use the area/pay taxes/have a soul don't either.

hmm, well I havent heard anything about NEW trails being opened... that being said, I believe what they're in the process of doing is CONVERTING most of the orv trails into biking/hiking trails - meaning letting the roads grow over/dissapear, let the oil and coolant soak into the ground, waiting for the trees to grow their branches back and THEN (hopefully) the state will build some newer trails for our trucks and quads.
Keep in mind that this proposed land use action is suspected to take 15-40 years to complete, and knowing WA state, will probably be closer to the latter of 40 years (which sounds like they're giving up to me).

This is all partially subjective information gathered by myself and my friends, taken from talking to locals, sheriffs, and forest rangers. It may not be accurate and if anyone is REALLY interested in finding out more, they should talk to the local Town of Goldbar (although they couldnt tell me much when I tried; was it my attitude?).

Its hard for me to imagine what wheeling's going to be like in 2027, let alone 2050 lol.

Enjoy the legal wheeling while you still can and don't wheel stupid or illegally and screw it up for any one else...that may extend the chances for my kids and grandkids to enjoy it.
