Can do...I was mapping out the route I wanna take. I think I'm just going to run 422 most of the way out. Stay off the pike it will add about an hour or so but the drive will be much nicer.
I have a buddy out here that may go. Don't laugh, he has a Jeep
. Nice guy other than that.

Where 34 brings you out you would have to travel along the river, cross the river, then do some serious backtracking to get to 209 (some maps also show a ferry service along the river at this point, this does NOT exist any longer). I will admit is a very pretty drive up through those parts, but laden with some very slow drivers, and a mentionable amount of twists and turns and ups and downs. I took the back way from my house near Sunbury down to Rausch Creek and it was a LOT of mountains. All in all, your best bet is once you poke out of 522 in Lewistown is to hit 322 all the way down through... You can get directly on 81 north from 322, and the speed limit is for the most part 55, so you don't have to worry about running the rig so much on the highway.
But, as they say my dude, getting there is half the fun, and the views are sure to be splendid. I've driven on all of the roads you mentioned, all have their good points haha. I tend to like to get to places as quickly as possible if I've already seen the scenic route a few times, so I do have a little bias in this case, but oh well haha. And of course, the other thing you could do is stay on 522 and take it to Selinsgrove. We could then form a little convoy and head down the backway from there

But never go to the Toyota dealer in Selinsgrove (Aubrey Alexander), they are slimmy... Parts are outrageous, they lie on the service writeups, and the sales department will stab you in the back if you're not careful. I've had not one, but 3 bad experiences with them lol. I thought I'd give them a second and third chance, but I had enough of them now haha.

yep, Brookside is good stuff. We almost had a house built by them, but we got a steal on a great rancher that we just remodeled instead haha.

had a deposit on an FJ there when they 1st were being released, but then after alot of arguing about it with the wife and kids, because the kids wanted it and the wife thought the same as me in that the suicide doors were going to be impossible for the kids to close themselves.
so we bought a new 2006 4runner somewhere else.
Brookside did excellent work....if you can't tell, i'm VERY picky about what i do etc etc etc. highly recommend them. in fact built my next door neighbor's house right after our's was done.

Taking a closer look that is a ferry they show crossing at Millersburgh. Maybe a bunch of us can meet in Selinsgrove or Sunbury Friday late afternoon early evening and head down to a campground? I plan on camping...I can't do the one at Rausch with it being primitive but at one of the camp grounds would be nice. 92 there are some around there that have camps there as well as tent stuff...

It would be nice if we all got the same place or right there close.

Can't do the primitive...It doesn't bother me but the lil lady isn't much of a camper, actually she's never slept in a tent. There is another couple, good friends of ours, and I think were going to split one of the cabins. Grab one of the 2bdr places. I emailed Echo Valley to see what was available.
