Indeed. If you get that breather under water, it can suck water into your diff, which equals not good. Extending it allows it to function normally, but prevents water from entering when offroading.

I know what it does silly... what I was asking about is just popping the caps off instead of trying to get the breathers out. I don't think they'll come out real easy like...

I'm going to give it a shot this weekend and see how it works out

What's up Jerry...Just got back, unpacked, and some junk put away...Good day I didn't break anything. The dizzy did get a lil damp and I was down just for a bit. The trail claimed my 1/4 ratchet, 6" extension, and 8mm socket. That does not make me happy. I'm uploading pic's to photobucket now.

wahooo, gonna have power steering by tonight (hopefully) if I can get this dang pitman off to replace it with a new one. Nearly broke the first puller I rented from autozone, when tightening up It was bending out the tangs on the tool, gonna rent their "heavy duty" one as soon as it comes back to the shop. One of their employees borrowed it shortly before i took the other one back.

Dual diaphram booster is installed now too. Made a pretty good difference with the t-100 master cyl as far as hard pedal feel goes, but I haven't driven it yet since I have no steering yet haha.

So two of the thorns in my side should be gone for the next trip. Spongy brakes and manual steering.
