LCE Head gasket kit
Hi everybody. It looks like i need to do a head gasket on my '87 22re. Not entirely decided yet, but i'm doing some research anyways.
I've heard nothing but good reviews on LCE's products. my question is the head bolts.. with my motor being all stock, would you suggest $25 oem head bolts or are the others really worth their money?

If you're deciding between standard head bolts vs. arp studs on a stock engine, I vote for saving your money. Just clean the mating surfaces and bolt holes really well after chasing the threads, use the correct torque sequence to 65 ft/lbs, and you won't ever have an issue.
Studs can be useful on engines with power-adding mods that put extra stress on the head gasket interface. Turbo's, aggressive cams, stroker, etc.

that's about what i was thinking. apperantly the studs are also reusable which i guess is neat, but once i put a head gasket in i'd like to think i wont have to do it again. OE bolts it is. thanks!
