Just to make sure... the new tail lights come with a new harness correct? Meaning that I will not be using the same bulbs for turn signals and back-up lighting as my '98 tails do, correct? So the bulbs will go from:

Back-up: 7440 --> 921
Turn signals: 7440 --> 7440

I already have LEDs as the back-up lights, which I like, but it looks like I won't be able to use them as the turn signals since they are white... I just figure if I'm going to convert to LED brake lights I might as well do a full out LED conversion. I mean all you need are some decent bulbs and some load resistors for the turn signals.

"Rice" means a "performance mod" that has almost zero functionality (or hampers performance for form) like a goofy wing,unpainted body kits or stickers or the factory hood scoops on 4Runners.

LEDs are just an update to what we are seeing on current vehicles including the new 4Runners and yes,they are brighter and aren't too costly of a mod.

 

I found another smoked LED tails.
But I won't buy these.

Those are different than the Ebay/Burtman ones made by Eagle Eyes. These are smoked and clear so was curious where he found them

 

Yeah i agree the smoked ones look good, not as ricey as the aztechs things but still give it that uniqe look. I will have to look into those once i get to finishing the outside. (got to do the inside first due to the break in).

 

The ones in the EBay link I posted are made by Eagle Eyes also. They are smoked (compared to the original ones posted by FoSheezy), I think. Unless I completely missed your point, in which case I apologize...

 

You found the first photo on ebay, i think that he was refering to the second one that he posted.

 

I was talking about the pics that Rumbles posted. They are different than the Eagle Eyes LED tails on Ebay and Burtman. The ones in the pic he posted are "smoked" not clear. Haven't seen these before...

 

I thought the ones I posted were darker than the originals. I guess my eyes have let me down.

I prefer clear type(original ones posted by FoSheezy) to smoked type.

I don't know about maker's name.
I will inquire of the trader who is selling these.
However, I guess they will not teach.
I guess these are made in Taiwan.

I guess I missed a lot last week.. I admit that I'm no tech guy or no wheelie person.. but I do come to Yotatech to gain a lot of info from everyone here.. yes, everyone's entitled to their opinion.. but I just feel if you have nothing nice to say.. why not just say, "I don't like it" Some may say Rice, but I say Nice... and to this day, I sooo glad I got the Led tail lights since it looks sweet. I'm asian, and I know what 'rice' means...and I can say that this is in noooo way a "rice" item.

So, how bout everyone shake hands and get back to what this forum's all about.. =)

They are manufactured by "Eagle Eyes". I could not find a website though on my quick search. They make these for my Tundra too, and I might get these as a Christmas gift to myself.

In my opinion they are a great upgrade. They look stock and install just like the stock lamps (big thing in my book). Plus they are brighter, illuminate quicker, and last a whole lot longer. I do wish the turn signals were LED as well, I'm sure the company didn't do LED's because of all the people saying their blinkers flash quickly, which is an easy fix to replace the flasher relay but they probably don't want to deal with the trouble it could cause.

Heres a picture of the tail light for the Tundra. They are more expensive than the 4runner tail lights, I guess because of the size. If burtmanindustries carried these I would definitely purchase from them. Ebay prices are nuts.
