Hows even everything going?

 

Everything is going well. I am just trying to work with the mounting points right now. I made the shell and mounting bracket out of 3/16" and everything came together great. I just have a couple things to adjust with the mounting points to use the front body mounts as another point. Bare with me, I am getting close to being ready to sell some. I just dont want to let anything out unless I am sure it is ready.

I have been focusing my efforts on making the DIY kits so that people can get a bumper for a fraction of the cost of a traditional priced plated bumper.

 

Alright so I have settled on what I will do for the pricing on the base bumper which will be the bumper with just the recovery points. Any other options will be added on at an extra fee.

Base DIY Kits -- $350

Completed Base Bumper -- $685

For now this is what I will be doing. I am really going to be pushing the DIY kits. Here are a couple pictures of how the kits come together. I am changing a few things with the mounting points and whatnot but you get the general idea.

The process is fairly simple but still requires some clamping to get plates aligned flush to one another.

What years will this range?

 

Is there room for a winch inside?? Great bumper by the way, and an option for DIY!!

 

Shipping will probably kill me, but any idea how much it would cost to ship something like that to AZ?

 

I am not sure if there are any differences in the 84 & 85`s mounting points but they should fit anything from an 84 up until the tacomas.
Not in this version. I tried to make this one more of a low profile bumper and to fit the winch it has stick out about another 3 inches. Winch ones are next on the list.
I looked up a rough estimate on shipping to Queen Creek and it was right at $80.

 

BNM, have you thought about fabricating a bumper for 1st Gen Pickups? There is a HUGE market out there since nobody makes solid aftermarket bumpers for 1st gens. The design and dimensions shouldn't be too much different from 2nd gens.

Also, I really like how you kept it fairly simple and didn't go over the top. It looks solid enough to beat up on a little while wheeling yet stylish enough for the daily driver.

Great job! I would definitely buy a DIY kit if you did 1st gens!

 

The plan is to cover all the different styles of Toyotas. As soon there is a "donor rig" to take measurements off of and fit the bumper to it we will start on the 1st Gens. Getting the business started has taken a bit longer than I'd like but we are slowly getting there.
