Specs

1/4" plate steel CNC cut formed on a press brake and fully welded. The design will allow me to only have 4 weld joints on the whole skid shell (not including the mounts) all the rest will be bent steel plate for Optimal strength. The design also has Pinion protection
(NOTE) if you have axle wrap I don't recommend pinion protection because it will contact your drive line when your axle wraps.

The mounts are 1" DOM tube for the font lowers with welded bung and the top plate is 1/2" plate with 3/4" DOM tube welded to each side with two 3.5" grade 8 bolts providing a full lock around the front of the 3rd. the axle tube mounts are 1/2" plate CNC cut and formed to the axle and 3/4" DOM welded at the ends for the top clamp secured with two 2.5"x1/2" grade 8 bolts and locking nuts.

Skids will be shipped as shown in the photos with one coat of self etching primer. If you plan on powder coating your skid let me know and I will not prime it.

The axle clamps are side specific there will be a D and a P on the top clamps they will not fit if you switch them.

Disclaimer
These skids are for off road use only and are not DOT approved please obey local laws and regulations.

Thanks man just to let everyone know these skids will work on all toyota 8.0 & 8.4 rear axles. I'm just checking to see if modifications need to me made to the mounting points for linked rear axles.

I mocked up the front lower mounts last night here are a few cell phone shots.

The top plate in the picture is just a jig for tube placement. The top plate will be 1/2" plate across the top wrapping the 3rd with 3/4" .120 wall tubes welded to each end where two 3" long 1/2" grade 8 bolts will bolt into the lower mounts. I wont have the bungs until the end of the week but this gives you guys an idea.

There is a rest under the 3rd that raps the lower to aid in clamping you can't really see it in the picture if you look closely you can see the weld joint. Its 1/4" now for mocking but will be 1/2" plate for the final product. Note the tube used for mocking these is HREW the finial product will be all DOM tubing.

These 1" .120 wall tubes will have a weld in threaded bung for a 1/2" grade 8 bolt to clamp the 3rd.
