You have got to be kidding!!!!!

Well... I was putting on my new front end suspension today (Steves Frankenstien front end) and it was a pretty aggravating install to begin with. After I got both sides in and I started to clean up... it dawned on me . Instead of putting the 1999 right coil in, I some how picked up my 1997 left coil and used that!!!!! This means I have to take it all apart again and fight with it for ever to get it back in!!!!!!!!! Well, I will have pictures later, after I finish for good, but for now

Oh that sucks...those things happen but at least it wasn't something that could cause some damage.

Drugs are bad,m'kay. j/k

I forgot to tighten a coolant line while installing a turbo and found out as soon as we started it up and had to spend a whole hour getting to the line.

I installed a TB spacer gasket backwards one time. After trying to figure out why my fuel injected 3.4L was running like a cammed + carbed V8, my friend pointed out that the gasket was in backwards, allowing fresh "unsniffed" air to enter the TB.

i carnaged my stock manifolds and cats, from the heads to the muffler, and installed headers...and then had to do everything all over again a month later because i didnt inspect the flanges on the new headers for cracks and holes. (or when i was ready to turn the engine over, and it wouldnt...and threw a CEL...and then my buddy pointed out i forgot to plug the MAF back in :pat: )

if it aint broke, fix it til it is.

I got ya' on that one... I did it too - TWICE on a friend's truck (Hi Shannon!) about a week apart. She had to drive it in-between my screw-ups.

One time after cleaning my TB I re-attatched the air intake hose to the manifold but forgot to tighten the screw. Drove it around and for some reason it seemed more sluggish than usual. Pulled over and found that the intake hose was almost completley OFF the manifold altogether. :pat:
Nothing a phillips head screw-driver couldn't fix though

Bahhh...

You guys are all newbies... I can beat these stories anyday. I once put the headgasket for my 22RE on upside down. It would have worked fine, but there is an oil return line cast into the head and block, and the headgasket has a little tab that provides a gasket between these surfaces.... Unless it's on upside down. The truck ran okay, it just leaked oil like crazy. And I had to tear the head off again. What fun!

I was doing a head gasket on a 3.0, and while I was tightening down the head bolds my socket poped off and fell down an oil passage into the oil pan. 5 hours to remove the oil pan and retrieve the socket!

i forgot to tighten the nuts on my new tie rod ends on my old fj40 and i finally figured it out in anza borrego. my steering just sucked through the canyon roads and finally one of the nuts came off and the i lost all steering at 2 mph in lowrange climbing a hill. lucky for me it happened then, because i would have killed myself 20 minutes later when i got on the highway to go home. double triple check........
