I wanna get a flowmaster exhaust for my 97 4runner, i wanna good deep outside tone with not to much interior noise... which series should i go for?? 40 or 50? i read that the American Thunder is good for the off-road vehicle.

I'm runnin the flowmaster 50. Its not loud in the cabin at all and its not too loud outside, but you def. know its there. The 40 series is a bit louder.

Use either one; but mount the muffler on edge, instead of pancake style. There should be plenty of room, and it should still sit up higher than the stock muffler.
The flat sides of the muffler, act like speakers, radiating sound. If you mount it pancake style, it will send all that extra sound directly into your floorboards. If you mount it on edge, most of the extra noise will be disapated elsewhere. The exhaust note will be the same, either way.
