Winches with TJM T15

Does anyone have experience putting a T-Max EW9000 or Mile Marker SE9500 into the TJM's T15 bumper?

The SE9500 does have the same height as Warn XD9000 (which is one of the recommended winches), but the solenoid pack is shown on the left.

T-Max EW9000 is slighly more expensive and is 8.1 inches high (vs. 7.6 inches of height for the Warn XD9000), but otherwise looks like it could fit. I understand that TJM would not recommend competitors (ARB/T-Max) winch for their bumpers, but it'd be nice to have one.

Any ideas? Mile Marker SE9500 has a really nice price tag over here:

Recommended winches are:
Superwinch X9
Mile Marker 70-50080C
Mile Marker 75-50085C
Warn XD9000
Ramsey REP9000

You'll see a lot of M8000s in TJMs on YT.

Since they both fit, what'd be a better choice - Tabor9K or M8000? Also considering Milemarker (since I'm not in a competition or anything - just go wheeling by myself once in a while).

Buy the Warn M8000, sell the cable and roller fairlead on Pirate4x4, Buy a synthetic line, a safety hook along with a snatch block and an aluminum hawse fairlead.

You now have one THE BEST setups for a light truck and it will cost around $675.

It is what I did.

I would personally go the M8000, one of the other members (northfacer) had trouble with the fairlead/ cable coming in contact with the bumper with the Tabor 9k IIRC. My M8000 fits perfectly in the bumper

Also, T-Max can be a funny brand. I ordered a winch strap and shackles from them. The strap was made in Austrailia, the shackles in China. I know the winches are made in China also, same as Milemarker.

The problem with that is that a lot of the winches are designed to mount stand-up (like on a jeep) so when they are side mounted the cable does not line up well with bumpers hole.

You can either trim the bumper (what I did) or buy the special fairlead they sell for side mount winches now.

I mounted mine on its side and it lines up just fine, cable and all. I've used it a few times and haven't had any issues with the cable rubbing.

I have the TJM-15 bumper with a se9500 winch on a SAS 93 p/u.
The wires that come with the winch are too short. You have to make your own. you actually have to cut the back small piece of metal that surrounds the switch operating port on the winch so you can get to the free spool or lock switch. the solenoid I drilled 4 holes and the passenger side of the bumper and mounted it up on top. I then had to drill a hole to run all the cables through it to the winch. You also have to reroute the cables out of the solenoid through the other port on the bottom of the solenoid. Took a lot of work, but overall I am happy with it.

Hmmm, maybe the T-15 is different. I have a T-13. Bruce TS alsh has a T-15 and trimmed his to mount a winch though.

e winches.com

Check out ewinches. Call and ask for Ben. I told him I was a member of jeepforum.com and he gave me cost prices. I got a MM E9000 and snatch block for under 500 dollars, shipped.

Lamm,
You're right about trimming the TJM for an M8000. I had to open up the hole for the cable to go through. It would have rubbed on the bottom of the slot in the bumper.

Also you'll have to clock your clutch control by about 72 degrees, since the Warn has 10 bolts, it won't clock 90 degrees.
