will an 84 22r carb work with an 87 22r

will an 84 22r carb work with an 87 22r

just got ahold of one and need to replace my old one, just seeing if it would work out the same

If it is set up the same, as in similar vacuum hose attachments and linkages, etc. then it would likely work. Those differences could be due to different emissions requirements between the 2 engines.

It's workable for sure. Even if the emission setups differ it's still possible. I've seen 3 different versions (I'm gonna guess their are even more variations!) of 22R carb setups and all having vastly different vacum systems. Ask tofer about his 2wd pickup, I think it was an 81... that thing was amazingly complicated comparing it to my 87 2wd Cali model.. Cali models I THOUGHT had the most emissions. His had far more hoses.

But regardless, with enough vac caps, you can make any carb work. The basics you need are the PCV and Vac Advance, most everything else can be capped.

it ended up working but i still had the same problem anyways so it was kind of a wast of time
