what is this thing on my e-locker?

it looks like a vacuum tube. there's even a tube in the wiring harness

hehe. it's permatex red. when i went to do the second tightening (like what the directions say) the un-cured insides got squished out like that. it seals really well.

anyway, everyone (3 people total, on here and pirate) thinks it's a vent. i wouldn't doubt it, but it seems like they wouldn't put a tube in the wiring harness for it if that were the case. dunno.

so talked with someone at marlin crawler, and yeah, it's a vent tube. the harness has a tube as well, and that's where it ends. the other end of the tube in the harness is capped off:
