x3 what tc said.

And yes 33 10.5's will fit.

This is my DD, stock saggy suspension, just hammered the body seam flat. These are 305 70 16 (33x12)

I ran 33x10.50 on my 88 with no lift. amazing setup that will tackle many trails across the country and still drive nicely. Throw a locker in the front and your set.

I was running 31s and she did fine on trails I went on back home, two inches isn't much if you think about it.

That's not what she said LOL

The thing is that the only cost effective way to get clearance under the diffs is by installing taller tires.

I'd say if you can get someone to add the leaves for you, get the downey 1.5" add a leafs. If you cant, the entire 2" leaf spring packs are less than another $100 and will give you a nice soft forgiving ride - or so I hear. Get a set of 1.5" BJ spacers (same setup I have, except I have new coils in the rear for my 'runner) and longer shocks. I recommend looking into Rancho or Old Man Emu, but you can just get whatever is cheap and fits. 2" body lift would be a great way to prep for an engine swap, but I feel thats a little far down the road for you. I wouldn't ever go over 2" body lift for a whole ton of reasons. the 2" body lift is the cheapest way to add a little altitude, but I would argue its better to get your suspension lifted first. Check your body mounts, if they're shot, get a body lift and swap out the mounts first, why not. Also, if you are going to do a solid axle swap, forget the IFS upgrades and just slap on the body lift - you'll want those extra inches for towering tires if you go through the trouble of SASing it! Otherwise, look into suspension lifts like you planned. 33's should just barely clear stock, the narrower the tire the easier the fit. I'm on a 1.5" lift and 31x10.5r15s. No complaints. I could fit 33's extremely easily on my setup, I don't know about at full turn stuffed on the trail, but I know it'd fit great for normal usage and it should fit without any scrub if I beat down the pinch. The only reason I didnt get 33's when I just got new tires is because I know that my beat down old 3vze is slow enough on 31's... Until I rebuild my axles and re-gear, 31's is where its going to be at for me.

you can fit 33x12.50's with an inch or two of shackle lift and bj spacers and 10.50's stock
