Trail gear diff armor

ok i have the front little armor on my truck and i wanna use the full one in the front and toss this one in the rear, does anyone have closeups of the diff armor in the front or rear? When i put it up against the diff it was off, like it wasnt wide enough. And i did have trouble with the small diff armor too.

Thanks

From what I've read your suppose to tack on end where it should be and use a mallet to make it fit snuggly. I dont think its suppose to fit perfect so when you hit it it gets like a glove fit and is snug.

We had to grind the tube to the fill plug down a bit...other than that it fit fine.

Why? The larger one completely covers the area where the small one would be. It would be a waste of time to weld it on just to cover it with the larger armor.

I have the large TG armor and it held up great in Moab. I used the front and rear several times.

I also shaved my diff plugs from the bottom of the axles, that made a ton of difference as well. No more hanging up and knocking the drain plug out of the axle.

personally, i hate the large diff armor. they are just too big and ugly. the small armor has a much cleaner appearance that goes with the round toyota axle.

i have something identical to the small diff armor that i made myself and they have held up great on the front and the rear. if you manage to mess up the small style armor you need to learn how to drive.

I've seen the smaller (strip style) ones smashed in almost to the ring gear. i like my bigger one..the more distance between those nasty rocks and my ☺☺☺☺ the better. just my two cents

Added some pics...I like the BEEF...as that little armor is just too flimsy...even if one can drive...add the BEEF!
