I can guarantee that you don't have 2" BJ spacers. They're most likely 1.5". For some people, just installing the BJ spacers and not cranking the bars will make the CVs bind. So BJ spacers and cranked bars will definitely bind. You will need a diff drop. That being said, don't crank the bars or install blocks.

 

I have 1.5s and a diff drop and it worked out pretty well, I havent had any binding or to much angle on the cvs either. One thing i did have to do after the bj spacers was get an alignment.

 

Yeah I'm probably gonna go up to a 4"lift anyway. I was gonna drop the diff but i haven't had any issues aaaaannnnddd i need more than an inch for wider tires anyway

 

Get the 3" kit from Rough Country. It will Let you run 33" tires and will solve a lot of problems for you. If you need new struts get the Moog 16" wheel stock spring and the procomp 6000 strut. Fast upgrade and will not brake the bank.

 

Hi I just sold an old runner and have a newer one that I wanna lift a bit. I have seen references alot re the Tundra coil overs, would you be so kind as to educate me which year and motor size, which I would assume would effect the gauge of the spring. Correct me if I am wrong, which is why I am here, I have a 6 cyl in my runner, would I order tundra coils that are out of a 6 cyl or v8. Thank you for your time,

 

On my runner i used fj cruiser coils in the rear, rancho 24" long rs5000s for a 95 dodge 1500 . I should make a relocation bracket for the track bar. Re drilled the hole. Then i cranked the t bars. Next step is to get ball joint spacers in the front with new longer shocks. As is. I'm running 285/75/16s on third gen 5 spokes. With no rubbing or othe issues. Drivabilitly is good too. Once i get the bj spacers in. I will re align the front.all said and done i should be into the lift for under $500 when done. The shocks are the most expensive parts

 

I ran Bilstein ride height adj 5100's in my 99 4R. Also threw in some new MOOG rear springs and a spacer in the rear to compensate for 4runner Sag. I found a rear air bag kit by Firestone (blue ones) on Amazon to help with towing heavy loads. Seem to help a lot and make the ride more stable under heavy tow loads (I tow trailers full of concrete and other heavy business with it).
