suspension on a 1989 2WD
my truck is a 2WD 1989 pickup. the rear end has a spring under axle with a 3" spring. the front of the spring has a mount welded to the frame and the spring bolts directly into that mount. the rear of the spring has a welded mount and a 5" shackle. my questin is will a shackle fit in the front mount if i was to put larger shackles on it to give a little lift? this may seem like a stupid question but i don't know a lot about aftermarket parts. my goal is to get 2" or 3" in the back with shackle and the get 2" or 3" in the front with a spindle lift so i can fit 30"s on it .

Just do a flip kit in the back. Pretty cheap way to get ~3" lift.
If you do a shackle in the front AND rear, there is nothing locating the axle along the length of the truck - it can move back and forth! This would be bad.
Which front spindles are you looking at? Did you consider a longtravel setup like Total Chaos or ESB?

i am new to the off-roading scene. so forgive me if i ask too many questions. you lost me with the flip kit thing for the back and i don't know exactly what brand spindle lifts i have looked at i have been jumping from web site to web site just seeing what i can find and tryin to get my foot in the door of off-roading.
P.S. i like your signature. i want to hit some trails but my truck is not ready for the trails yet
