I don't like how my 87 4runner tank hangs down so low. I had heard sometime about swapping a Supra tank in place of the spare tire to gain some clearance. Has anybody does this or know if it is a good idea?

Anything can be done with enough time and money.
If you gonna go that far why not put the supra motor in it too.
As far as tank swaps some have used their stock tank turned it sideways and mounted it up there. This was done also having a body-lift installed as well.

Do a search there are a few places that may still have pics of it done www.pirate4x4.com had some a while ago.
A guy from All pro offroad did it a few years ago on his 90 something 4 runner.

I know 4crawler moved his gas tank up only because he is running a body-lift.

I'm going to eventually swap the 4.3 vortec out of my S-10 into it whenever I have the time and money to swap a V8 in the S-10. I'm sure I'll have it figured out by then.
