springs or spacers?

springs or spacers?
Ok i have the option of geting an OME lift for my 4runner, or a Revtek lift, or possibly a Daystar for 120 bucks, although I think that he may have backed out on it so probably OME or Revtek. I know the Revtek is just a spacer lift, and I know that I can get the OME buying a used front lift with spacer to level it out and new rear lift 96 dollars more than the Revtek. Is it worth that price?

ok here is another factor to think about, when i hit a bump with the windows down i can hear a slight hiss or something are my shocks going bad, because if they are, then I might as well get an OME setup.

Its normal for shocks to hiss a bit on sudden bumps. Its the sound of the gas passing through the valve in there. Even brand new shocks do it.
As for springs vs. spacers, I don't think anyone uses spacers permanently. They add a lifted look but don't do much to make it work better. A real spring lift is the permanent way to go if you want it to work on the trails.

If you do much offroading, I'd go with new springs. If the lift is just for looks, spacers will do the job.

What exactly is the difference, just how the truck performs in the mud, or the actual ride? I'm thinking about getting spacers but don't want my ride to suffer (although I will be doing NO offroading)...

When it comes to mud the only thing that really matters is tires.

Spacers just move the stock springs down some. The ride will be similar to stock. Not all spacers are created equal though. Some will cause noises. Also, the center if gravity is raised so you probably get more body lean in turns. Lots of guys run the stiffest swaybar they can find (Addco) after lifting so their "Ride dosen't suffer." I think that might be a decent setup for you.
