If you're at 17-3/8" is it even worth it - sounds like frame is bent already ...

you know how easy it is to build one!!!!! measure the gap distance on your IFS, go down to the local metal shop, find a piece of metal like that one from sonoran (nothing against the company) paint it yourself, then drill your own holes, go buy some $1 bolts, nuts and washers, and there you go! all for like 30 bucks, if not less. i did that, it onlycost me nothing for the piece of metal, thick stuff, like 1/2" thick, 25 bucks shop labour to cut it to spec size, then 5 bucks for rust paint and another 5 for rock gaurd or undercoating.

Can you say "cheap Belizean knock-off"? Nothing against Belizeans.

By the way, if there was no welding involved in your manufacturing process, what you've made would be missing a few crucial peices that the Sonoran Steel truss has built-in for maximum strength. So me calling it a "knock-off" is really a disgrace to the brilliant craftsmanship of the Sonoran Steel Early IFS Truss. As the true resemblence could only be minimal.

Sorry, Steve for that poor choice of words. I was just trying to make a point.

There isn't really a substitute for this. Pretty hard to get the quality that this piece is for 30 bucks. However, in belieze, I can see why, as shipping woud be pretty pricey.

Why is it really uncomon to be over 17in? I highly dought that the frame is bent. I just bought the 4 runner off the origianal owner with 135,000 original miles. This guy was 78 years old, never wheeled it and its never been in an accident. It drives like its bran new.

99% of them are 17" dead on, I have personally seen them 16 3/4" and even 16 1/2", So there is slop in the manufacturing process, I found that as well on the 3rd Gen 4Runner frames when I used to make bumpers, some had the frame rails a bit wider than others. All made in Japan, not by Dana-Spicer here.

Yes I have shipped them to Canada, Shipping is not that much but you'll get taxed and have a broker fee.

I have materials to make two 17" or less ones right now. So go measure and see what your truck is.

It is time to build the trusses again. If you want one call in your order ASAP.

Only a few left.

Now are these trusses only for stock setups? Could you use one for a lifted setup?

Probably depends on what type of lift you have. I'm assuming you are talking about a 4" bracket lift. Otherwise, a torsion bar crank or ball joint spacers would have absolutely nothing to do with the truss.

I would call Steve and find out from the source, instead of hoping someone will be able to guess for you

Well, it looks like I will have to change this product. Of all the people that wanted them I only got 2 orders. Not even enough to cover the materials.

So I will convert this from a product built in batches a few times a year to a custom built to order product that is always available. All of the time.

The price will increase to $150.00 as they will all be built one at a time to your custom size on your time schedule not mine. The two orders I have will remain at the old price.

I am also having a hard time finding the 5" water pipe, maybe it's a sign.

Steve, I poked around for some 5" Sch 40, and the folks I have talked to say it is a pretty unusual size. I have a few more contacts I can run down....we'll see.

Steve, thanks for leaving the option open for guys to still order this instead of discontinuing the product. I'd hate to see such a great product dissappear from the market place!

I think I have a couple of pieces of 5" water pipe here in my local scrap yard, but it is scrap and not new....and I don't know how much shipping to AZ from OH would increase your costs. Anyhoo, if you want me to verify that it is the pipe you use I can check it out.

I have the 5" water pipe. 3 feet of that was 85 bucks! Three Feet.

So I have enough materials to built 14 trusses, I will work them in on the next open day.
